Frequently Asked questions

Coronavirus questions

What is your approach to health, safety and hygiene across the Krispy Kreme business?

The health, safety and wellbeing of our staff and customers is our number one priority, at all times. We have a number of comprehensive health, safety, hygiene and strict social distancing measures in our retail stores and at our manufacturing sites in alignment with Government guidance.

Will customers be allowed to sit in-store?

Customers who have official proof they have been fully vaccinated or have recovered from Covid-19 within the last 180 days, as per Government requirements, can sit in at both our stores which are also open for Click and Collect and takeaway with our Blanchardstown store also offering drive-thru.

When sitting in at our stores, we ask that our customers adhere to the recent changes to restrictions that we have in place:

  • A maximum of 6 people over 18 are allowed per table (maximum 15 persons when including children aged 12 and younger)
  • You must wear a face covering when not at your table
  • 1 metre distance must be kept between tables
  • Table service only (no counter service)

Are customers and staff required to wear a face covering when in your stores?

Yes. In line with the current Government guidance, all staff and customers should wear a face covering when in our stores, unless exempt. Face coverings can then be removed when making use of our seating area.

What do your social distancing measures look like in-store?

We are continuing to follow Government guidance on social distancing. We are doing everything possible to maintain at least 1 metre distance in our stores for employees and customers.

Are you accepting reusable cups now?

We will begin to accept reusable cups again.

Why don’t you accept cash?

We have taken the decision to only accept contactless/chip and pin payments in all of our retail stores to ensure the most efficient customer experience. If you wish to use cash, you can access our delicious treats via one of our many cabinets in selected Circle K and Tesco locations. Find your nearest cabinet here.

I can’t find your doughnuts in my local supermarket?

Due to the impact of COVID-19 and the requirement for some of our Krispy Kremers to self-isolate, this may mean our delicious treats which are made fresh daily are temporarily unavailable in some locations. We are very sorry for any disappointment this may cause.

The health, safety and well-being of our Krispy Kremers is our highest priority and we are working hard to ensure our doughnuts are available where and when you need them just as soon as we can. Thanks for bearing with us at this time.

Why is my local store closed?

Due to the impact of COVID-19 and the requirement for some of our Krispy Kremers to self-isolate, we have taken the difficult decision to temporarily close some of our locations.

The health, safety and well-being of our Krispy Kremers is our highest priority and we are working hard to re-open as soon as it practically possible. Thanks for bearing with us at this time.

I want to place a Click and Collect order via your website but it’s not giving me an option?

Due to the impact of COVID-19 on our supply chain operations, we have taken the difficult decision to close our Click & Collect service for the next couple days until we are certain we can fulfill all orders and give our customers the high-quality experience they expect from us.

We hope to resume Click & Collect as soon as possible and will provide updates on our website and via social media.

I ordered via Click and Collect but my chosen store is closed – can I get a refund?

For any customers who have made a recent Click & Collect order you will be contacted directly about a full refund in the next 24 hours. If you have any issues please don’t hesitate to contact our Customer Care team via this link.

Do you use sustainable Palm Oil?

Although Krispy Kreme Doughnuts does not source palm oil directly from palm mills / palm plantations, we will continue to work in tandem with our suppliers to ensure continued adherence to the above principles and standards. Our current efforts are focused exclusively on our shortening suppliers as they represent greater than 95% of our palm usage. We continue to work exclusively with the RSPO on our ongoing efforts to reach our goal of responsibly sourcing 100% of our palm oil through a combination of RSPO certified segregated supply, RSPO mass balance mixed-source supply, and the purchase of RSPO Book & Claim credits—a goal we completed globally starting in 2015. You can follow our progress here: https://rspo.org/members/3094/Krispy-Kreme-Doughnut-Corporation.

Are you RSPO certified?

Krispy Kreme are completely committed to responsible and sustainable use of Palm Oil. We have complete traceability of any Palm Oil we use and 99.35% of it is from sustainable sources. Our vegan doughnuts are produced in the same factory which also creates our other doughnuts and uses shared equipment. All of our doughnuts remain suitable for vegetarians.

Why only vegan not gluten free?

We are delighted to launch three delicious new vegan doughnuts as we know vegan is an important and growing need for many consumers in the UK & Ireland and we’re excited to offer more choice by expanding our range to cater for those who follow a vegan diet. In creating these vegan doughnuts we haven’t had to compromise the great taste that Krispy Kreme is famous for. We haven’t found a gluten free recipe yet that lives up to these same high taste standards but will continue to work on it in the future.

Why have you only turned some doughnuts vegan, why not your whole range?

Not everything in our range is suitable for vegans and we wouldn’t want to be changing some of the favourite doughnuts that our customers love. These three new doughnuts are suitable for those customers who follow a plant-based or vegan diet and taste delicious It’s important we always offer choice to our customers, so we will review these and may extend our range in future.

Where are vegan doughnuts available?

The Fudge Brownie Bliss, Apple Custard Crumble, and Caramel Choc Delight will be available for purchase until 30th January 2022 in our shops and cabinets in the UK and Ireland.

Do you charge more for vegan doughnuts?

we are pleased to answer that “No” we will not be charging more for our vegan flavours. We strive to always provide the best quality and value to our customers and as such the new vegan doughnuts will be priced the same as other selected doughnuts in our range.
